basic information
**Lecture 2: Purpose of the Presentation** The Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11 has significantly increased the urgent social demand for energy-saving products. In particular, the application products of transparent insulating films that can block solar energy, which is electromagnetic waves from glass windows, are required to reflect electromagnetic waves with simple processing of existing window glass in households, while also providing insulation functions to prevent winter condensation, all at a low cost and with easy installation. For commercial and public buildings, it is especially important that the heat-insulating films do not allow summer solar energy to enter the interior, thus providing energy-saving effects and eliminating the risk of thermal breakage. This presentation will discuss the characteristics of transparent insulating films using new sputtering technology, comparing similarities and differences with products based on conventional technology. **Lecture 3: Purpose of the Presentation** This presentation will introduce research and development cases related to the overview of switchable glass, including reviews, and the various characteristics of switchable mirror devices.
