ISTA is one of the international standards widely adopted around the world for the evaluation testing of packaged goods, similar to ISO and ASTM. In recent years, its presence has particularly increased in Southeast Asia and China, with more companies adopting ISTA testing standards as their internal standards. Additionally, the international standard for sterilization packaging in medical devices, ISO11607 (JIS T8041), recommends ISTA testing as one of the options for evaluating packaging performance. **Features of the ISTA Examination** ISTA is an independent, membership-based non-profit organization, similar to ASTM, that has specialized in transportation packaging testing for approximately 60 years, focusing on the development of standards and the dissemination of technology. ISTA adopts a certification system, enforcing the testing methods and procedures. Once the test results are certified by ISTA, the attachment or printing of a logo-mark label on the packaging box is approved, which can have a certain impact on claims for damages or negotiations regarding health fees in the event of damage.
