basic information
**Introduction to Sumika Super S1000** The Sumika Super (formerly Econol) S1000 series is an all-aromatic polyester resin that exhibits excellent heat resistance, maintaining its shape without melting or deforming at 400°C and having a continuous use temperature of 260°C. It has low cutting resistance and minimal melting due to heat, resulting in superior dimensional stability. Additionally, it generates very little burr, making it suitable for precision machining. **Characteristics** ■ Heat Resistance - Continuous use temperature: 260°C - Short-term use at 400°C is possible - Low linear expansion coefficient, providing good dimensional stability - Excellent thermal insulation ■ Mechanical Properties - High strength retention at elevated temperatures, with significant compressive strength - Low creep ■ Chemical Properties - Low impurities such as metal ions - One order of magnitude lower water absorption rate (0.04%) compared to polyimide resins - Minimal dimensional changes even in water environments - Completely resistant to organic solvents and oils - Flame retardant, with the main component of gases produced during combustion being carbon dioxide ■ Machinability - Minimal burr during cutting, ideal for precision machining - No melting due to heat generated during processing, resulting in beautiful cutting surfaces.
