In these enclosed spaces, air movement is insufficient, making condensation more likely to occur, which leads to a higher risk of damage from mold and other issues. The composition of main component B-type silica gel is over 99% silicon dioxide, making it an extremely stable chemical product. This silicon is a substance that makes up about 60% of the Earth's crust and exists naturally as quartz and crystal. Silica gel is non-water-soluble, non-hygroscopic (liquefying), non-corrosive, and non-toxic. Its internal structure consists of countless gaps (pores), and when the surface area of these pores is combined, it amounts to about 450 square meters per gram of silica gel, which is equivalent to more than 300 tatami mats. Due to its capillary structure, starting from the moment of use, when humidity rises, it absorbs moisture from the surrounding environment, and when humidity decreases, it releases the absorbed moisture back into the air, stabilizing the humidity in the space. This action is repeated at room temperature. Particularly, due to its excellent moisture absorption capacity during high humidity, it is effective in preventing condensation. The moisture absorption capacity can absorb up to about 70% of its own weight in moisture and also effectively adsorbs ammonia odors. When dried in the sun, it forcibly releases the absorbed moisture, allowing for further moisture absorption effects.
