The composition of silica gel is an extremely stable chemical product with over 99.5% silicon dioxide. This silicon is a substance that makes up 60% of the Earth's crust and exists naturally as quartz and crystal. Silica gel is non-water-soluble, non-hygroscopic (liquefying), non-corrosive, and non-toxic. Its internal structure consists of countless holes (pores), with a surface area of about 450 square meters per gram, equivalent to approximately 300 tatami mats. Due to its capillary structure, it absorbs moisture from the surrounding environment when humidity rises and releases the absorbed moisture when humidity decreases, thereby stabilizing the humidity in the space.
