Due to its excellent acceleration characteristics, instantaneous operation for starting, stopping, and reversing is possible.
5-phase stepper motors/drivers are superior in many aspects such as resolution, vibration, and high performance compared to 2-phase stepper motors. All models (5-phase stepper motors and 5-phase stepper drivers) comply with RoHS. Stepper motors generally receive pulse signals from an external source, and the electromagnetic force generated in the stator windings attracts the rotor, causing the output shaft to rotate by an angle proportional to the number of pulse signals. The rotation speed is determined by the frequency of the input pulse signals (pulse frequency), while the rotation angle is determined by the total number of input pulse signals. On the other hand, the unit step angle is determined by the mechanical structure of the rotor and stator. Additionally, 5-phase stepper drivers are low-cost and compact. Since its establishment, Tamagawa Seiki has challenged the angular accuracy of control devices such as high-precision sensors, motors, and gyros that were necessary for the times, delivering these products to customers. Currently, we have become one of the few manufacturers in the world that develops and manufactures 2D position and angle sensors as well as 3D (spatial) position and angular velocity sensors. The motion systems that apply these high-precision sensor technologies are expanding their applications from everyday office automation to factory automation and even into the aerospace industry.
