A device that inspects the dot array for each character without cutting out the characters. Using a unique method, it detects even a single dot missing as a defect, allowing inspection with one font registration per character. Additionally, dot extraction can selectively extract only the dots of the required size, making it less susceptible to influences from background noise, dirt, and variations in lighting.
