The ultrasonic bone density measurement device "LD-100" detects two waves (high-speed wave and low-speed wave) generated when ultrasonic waves are emitted to the radius bone at the wrist, and measures bone density and bone thickness. When ultrasonic waves are applied to the trabecular bone, a unique phenomenon occurs where the waves split into two: the "high-speed wave" that propagates depending on the bone trabeculae, and the "low-speed wave" that propagates depending on the viscoelastic bone marrow. This device enables individual analysis of the propagation characteristics such as sound speed and attenuation rate of each wave through the development of a unique calculation system and the incorporation of highly sensitive sensors, allowing for quantitative evaluation of bone density and bone thickness.
