We conducted an analysis and examination regarding summer (southwest wind) and winter (north wind).
The analysis of the wind environment around the Minami-Oi Mansion examined the impact on the wind environment in the surrounding area for a residential building located in the urban area of Ota Ward, Tokyo, during the summer (southwest wind) and winter (north wind). There have been frequent issues related to the wind environment (building wind) concerning the construction of relatively low-rise apartments, around 10 stories, primarily in Tokyo. The situation is such that a building of about 30 meters in scale is being constructed in an area densely populated with single-story buildings (around 6 meters high). Therefore, if the planned building is positioned in a way that obstructs the wind path of the block, there are concerns about the deterioration of the surrounding wind environment. 【Analysis Model】 - The planned building and surrounding neighborhood are reproduced in detail. - The grid count is 113×117×43=568,503. - To accurately reproduce the wind environment, the grid is refined around the planned building and within one block of the neighboring area. - The analysis model diagram is from after the planning. - Wind speed conditions are determined based on meteorological data, setting wind direction and speed, and applying a power law distribution for the wind. 【Analysis Results】 - The area surrounding the planned building primarily consists of single-story structures, but there is a slightly taller office building across the road to the east, and a building of about six stories to the north. - Wind is slightly accelerated in the area between the two buildings. - Due to the position of the planned building obstructing the flow, complex three-dimensional turbulent wind is formed in the surrounding area and downstream. - A comparison with results prior to planning confirms that the wind strength differs on the downstream side of the planned building. - It is also possible to examine the effects of wind mitigation measures such as vegetation and windbreaks around the site. ● For more details, please contact us or download the catalog.
