S20806
Researchers from top domestic universities and manufacturers will explain various aspects of odors in future living environments.
**Lecture Summary** In recent years, issues related to odors have been changing. In particular, with the aging population, care environments have gained attention, and the specific odor problems associated with these environments have also been addressed. Additionally, it is said that increased airtightness has made it easier for odors generated indoors to linger. This lecture will explain the basic knowledge regarding odors, including sources of odors indoors, methods for measuring and evaluating odors, and the characteristics of odor generation. It will also discuss the necessary considerations for the amount of odor generation and acceptable levels when considering odor countermeasures, as well as introduce the standard values derived from previous research. Furthermore, examples of odor surveys and measurements in actual indoor settings will be presented, along with an explanation of the concepts behind odor control methods. Based on survey results regarding the deodorizing performance of products claimed to have deodorizing functions and the effectiveness of measures implemented in real-world settings, the lecture will introduce the deodorizing effects and challenges associated with each method.
