Welding buildup repair for high-temperature corrosion prevention of piston crown erosion fire surfaces.
Certification piston head by the Japan Maritime Association - Welding buildup for high-temperature corrosion protection.
The welding buildup repair for high-temperature corrosion prevention of the erosion surface of forged steel piston heads for diesel engines involves welding buildup on the worn piston crown and then performing special metal buildup welding on top of it, demonstrating extremely high corrosion resistance, thereby extending its lifespan and allowing for long-term use. Currently, piston crowns are manufactured through a complex forging process, which requires significant labor and is costly. Therefore, we have obtained a utility model registration certificate to manufacture piston crowns inexpensively and within a short period by cutting commercially available round rolled steel or round forged steel into specified lengths, machining them without undergoing a forging process, and then performing special heat treatment. Cocabu Co., Ltd. was established in October 2011 for the purpose of welding and repairing marine diesel engine parts. The piston crowns of marine diesel engines are generally made of high carbon, Cr-Mo copper. Approval from the classification society to which the vessel belongs (is registered) is required for the welding and repair of piston crowns (compliance with regulations). Recently, Cocabu Co., Ltd. received approval from the Tokyo headquarters of the Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (NK) regarding our welding and repair plan for piston crowns. We are the only factory in Japan that can perform welding and repair of piston crowns approved by the Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (NK). Additionally, we have also received approval from the Nippon Kaiji Kyokai for our welding and repair plan using Inconel for high-temperature corrosion protection of the piston crown's combustion surface.
