Development of Filters and Oxidation Catalysts and Latest Technologies and Regulatory Trends in Engine Emission Gas Treatment
【Lecture Summary】 This lecture will introduce the current status of DPFs for the treatment of particulate matter contained in diesel exhaust, as well as the current state of oxidation catalysts necessary for DPF regeneration. In particular, it will present the research status of non-precious metal oxidation catalysts, which have become an important issue, and discuss the enhancement of activity through nanoparticle formation. 【Lecture Summary】 In recent years, starting in Europe and now in Japan, diesel engine passenger cars have been labeled "clean diesel" and are becoming more widespread. This lecture will clarify why diesel engines are currently attracting attention and how they differ from the previous generation of diesel engines that had once declined, through an explanation of the latest engine systems and exhaust gas treatment technologies.
