basic information
**Lecture Summary** In recent years, preventive safety technologies and driving assistance technologies, which can be described as semi-autonomous driving, have been put into practical use and are now being installed in some vehicles. Expectations for the practical application of autonomous driving are rising, as automotive companies announce plans to sell vehicles equipped with autonomous driving functions in the near future. This lecture will focus on one of the driving modes of autonomous vehicles, platooning, and will explain its concepts and examples. **Lecture Summary** Bosch aims to expand the scope of driver assistance systems over the next few years. This lecture will explain the current status of the development and practical application of our latest driver assistance technologies and our efforts towards autonomous driving technologies that are a continuation of this work. **Lecture Purpose** This presentation will discuss the current state and future of automotive safety, as well as the philosophy behind safety technologies and Denso's approach. It will then introduce the recently evolving advanced safety technologies, explaining range sensors such as radar and image sensors, followed by an explanation of the driving assistance systems, sensors, and actuators that operate during normal driving. Finally, it will provide an outlook on the future of automotive safety systems, including autonomous driving.
