The stainless steel tape material is wound in a spring shape with no interlocking, providing excellent flexibility and resistance to lateral pressure. It has a thin wall thickness, allowing for a large inner diameter and a small outer diameter, but there is no limit to bending. Typically, it is used with stainless steel biasing or PVC coating on the outside to prevent stretching.
