In recent years, due to the lightweighting of automobiles, "aluminum materials" and electronic components primarily made of soft metals like copper and nickel have been pressed, leading to various troubles in mass production due to the workpiece adhering to the punch. Adhesion is considered to be one of the factors due to the high affinity between the punch material and these workpieces. Therefore, Punch Industry has commercialized R-coated punches with a hydrogen-free DLC surface treatment, primarily composed of carbon, which has low affinity for aluminum and soft metals. Since 2006, our company has been selling F-coated punches for high-strength materials, which have received high praise for their performance in harsh press processing and high shot count press processing. However, with difficult-to-process materials (such as aluminum and copper), aluminum adhesion has become a problem, and the R-coated punch is a coating designed to solve this issue.
