Freeze-drying is a method of removing moisture from frozen substances by directly converting them from the solid phase (frozen state) to the gas phase without passing through the liquid phase, that is, through "sublimation." For this reason, freeze-drying is widely adopted as one of the methods for formulating drugs that are relatively unstable and cannot be formulated in a normal liquid state.
