  Simplify polygon data with one click Recently, there has been an increase in opportunities to handle polygon data (STL). To achieve high-precision output with 3D printers, the file size of models becomes enormous, leading to longer processing times for large data. We have received requests from customers for solutions to manage large data. STL Workshop 2 is an STL editing system that realizes "the ease of operation that allows simplification with one click," "the high quality of the output data," and "the excellent support that comes from being domestically produced."

  "Polygon Mesh Smoothing" that Preserves the Characteristics of STL Data Shapes Polygon meshes obtained from 3D measurement devices have fine irregularities on their surfaces due to device noise and other factors. This function smooths out such rough polygon meshes. Conventional smoothing methods tend to round off sharp edges and increase the radius of curvature of rounded edges, but this method can minimize changes in the curvature of the edges.

  Considering the bulge of STL data shapes: "Subdivision of polygon meshes." When outputting with a 3D printer or determining tool paths in CAM, if the polygon mesh is coarse, the flat surfaces of the polygons become prominent, making it impossible to create smooth objects. This function estimates the bulge within the triangles of each polygon based on their positional relationship with surrounding polygons and subdivides them into finer polygons that take the bulge into account. This software can automatically recognize sharp edges and perform subdivisions that consider the locations of these sharp edges.
