The NV-500 utilizes a pair of metal wires to achieve Ethernet communication via point-to-point connections. It allows for bidirectional transmission speeds of up to 100 Mbps over distances of up to 200 meters. Additionally, users can select data transmission speed limits or fixed noise margins based on the distance and condition of the metal wires. The front panel features an LED to check the link status, and switching between CO (master unit) and CPE (slave unit) can be easily done through DIP switch settings.
