When the FRM220-Serial is installed in an SNMP-managed FRM220 rack, it allows for in-band management to monitor the status, type, version, optical link/data link status, alarm settings, and various displays of the card module and remote converter. If used in a standalone chassis without management functions, settings can be configured using DIP switches.
