◆Indoor Measures for Sulfur Odor We received a consultation regarding the sulfur odor emitted from inspection machines for mechanical parts, which has been filling the indoor space and causing complaints in various areas of the same floor. The source of the odor has been identified, and since the airflow for treatment was low, we proposed an adsorption method using activated carbon and conducted a preliminary demo test. We enclosed the inspection machine with a tent to prevent the spread of the odor and used a fan to suction the odor inside the tent, checking whether the odor could be reduced using the activated carbon adsorption method, which allowed us to determine the treatment airflow and design the equipment. We installed the activated carbon deodorization device, Deokeeper (for sulfur odors). The inspection machine is surrounded by a vinyl tent, and the internal odor is suctioned through an aluminum flexible duct by a fan within the device. The suctioned odor is passed through the activated carbon layer for treatment. It is equipped with casters at the bottom, making installation and movement easy. According to the odor concentration measurement results, an odor concentration of 3,200 was measured at the inlet side of the deodorization device, while the outlet side showed an odor concentration of less than 10, achieving a deodorization effect of 99.7%. Due to the nearly odorless level detected by the nose at the outlet side, the exhaust is directly released into the indoor space.
