Based on previous construction experience, it was determined that there is a high possibility that the internal ducts have also been damaged due to the earthquake. Therefore, a preliminary inspection was conducted not only for the repair of the insulation material on the outer skin but also with the premise of repairing and reinforcing the duct itself. Since it was a race against time, on the same day of the consultation, we secured the necessary materials for duct reinforcement in addition to the insulation material. Points: 1. Upon removing the damaged existing insulation material, it was found that the duct flange connection was completely separated (flange bolt damage). 2. Anticipating this in advance, we immediately fabricated the matching flange and reinforcement channel on-site (measured and produced). 3. The size of the existing flange connection bolts was too small and insufficient for load-bearing, so they were changed to appropriate bolts, and by tightening them together with the channel and matching flange, the strength of the connection was improved. 4. The existing structure consisted of the duct body + glass wool + aluminum glass cloth + decorative steel plate. However, considering future maintenance and cost reduction, the decorative steel plate was omitted, and aluminum glass cloth with a decorative coating was used for the exterior to match the surrounding colors.
