10GBASE-T media converter compatible with Cat6a to Cat7.
This is a 10GBASE-T media converter from Transition Networks, which can be used as an extension device for connections between 10G servers or 10G switches, or to connect a 10G server located far from a 10G switch. The TP side uses a standard RJ-45 connector and is compatible with both UTP and STP, and can connect with Cat6a compliance. The fiber optic extension uses an open slot type that allows the insertion of SFP+ modules. You can use the various 10G SFP+ optical modules (transceivers) offered by the company or SFP+ modules from other manufacturers that comply with MSA. For the company's optical transceivers, variations are available for up to 300m with OM3 compliant multimode fiber, and up to 10km, 20km, 40km, and a maximum of 80km with OS1 or OS2 compliant (or better) duplex single-mode fiber, as well as 10km, 20km, 40km, and 60km with simplex single-mode fiber. (Note that the extension distances are only guidelines, and when using dark fiber, it is necessary to design with optical transceivers that can extend distances two to three times greater.)

basic information
Compliant with IEEE802.3, 802.3an, 802.3ae, and 802.3az, the data rate is fixed at 10Gbps, and due to its repeater type, the delay is minimized. There is a standalone model (S4120-1048) powered by an adapter and a card type (C4120-1048) that can be mounted in a chassis with redundant power supply as a consolidated media converter. The power consumption is 10.5W, and the operating environment is 0 to 50°C and 5% to 95% (non-condensing). With the transparent link pass-through function, when used in opposition, if a link failure occurs on the TP side of the opposing media converter, the failure propagates through the connected optical fiber, causing the local media converter's TP side to automatically link down, allowing for safe transmission without data loss. Dimensions of the standalone model: Width 82.55mm × Depth 165mm × Height 25.4mm. For other detailed specifications, please refer to the product catalog. (It is on page 24 of the popular products general catalog.)

Applications/Examples of results
- Extension connection of the 10G backup file server within the company: An example where a 10GBASE-SR optical module is installed, connected to the switch via MMF, and connected to a 10G server with a 10m Cat6a cable. - To transmit Full HD and 2k/4k videos between 10G aggregation switches with guaranteed bandwidth, since the switch on the video server side does not have optical ports, it is connected with Cat7 STP and converted to a single-core single-mode optical fiber to send video to a branch 20km away with minimal delay. Since the connection goes through carrier-grade dark fiber, it was designed using TN-10GSFP-LRB61 and 62 optical transceivers for 60km, anticipating a 23dB optical loss, and transmission was successful without issues.

The company was established in 1994 as a provider of IT-related product imports, sales, and technical support. We mainly offer distribution and technical support for cutting-edge computer network-related products and information communication security-related products from the United States. Recognizing early on that security measures against computer viruses and malware are essential for information communication networks, we have also engaged in the sale and support of information security-related products. In recent years, cyber attacks targeting specific entities have become a social issue, making defensive measures against threats essential for businesses and organizations. In addition to solutions that defend against malicious attacks from outside and prevent information leaks, we provide new solutions that utilize artificial intelligence (AI) to detect anomalies and prevent incidents by leveraging machine learning and mathematical theories against cyber attacks that penetrate internal networks and internal threats that bypass perimeter defenses.
