basic information
**Lecture Summary** Due to significant advancements in global warming and the instability of Earth's weather, various proposals and implementations have been made to reduce the use of Earth's resources and decrease electricity consumption. Currently, regarding "heat-insulating and heat-shielding materials for windows," in addition to improvements in window glass structure, there are structural modifications that can be added later and sunlight adjustment through window films, with a wide variety of energy-saving technologies being marketed. Among these, this presentation summarizes the latest development trends and comparisons of energy-saving effects of "heat-insulating and heat-shielding transparent films for windows," as well as issues after installation such as thermal cracking and condensation measures. It compiles the annual energy-saving effects of various proposed window films in relation to the revised energy-saving law aimed at zero-energy houses, along with usage points categorized by type, and discusses simple calculation methods for identifying issues. Depending on the application and method of use, it is necessary to select and improve performance in response to issues such as condensation and thermal cracking, particularly in relation to the heat-shielding capabilities of window films and the reduction of heating loads in winter, tailored to regional climates. The presentation will also describe the calculation methods necessary for thermal transmittance and shading coefficient calculations, as well as the formulas and methods for calculating glass temperatures when assessing the presence of thermal cracking or condensation, summarizing the effectiveness of window films required for future changes in window forms.
