basic information
Vacuum forming is a molding method in which a plastic sheet is heated and softened, then stretched and pressed against a mold using air pressure. Unlike injection molding or sheet metal pressing, the mold only requires either a convex or concave shape, resulting in a shorter production time and lower costs. Generally, prototypes are formed using synthetic wooden molds, followed by trimming with handwork, while mass production involves forming with resin molds and trimming with NC machining.
