It has become possible to perform surface heat treatment on small diameter round bars, which has been difficult until now.
"μ (micro) high frequency" is a new technology being developed by Marushin Heat Treatment Co., Ltd. It is a high-frequency induction heating treatment that uses frequencies even higher than those traditionally used in high-frequency induction heating, allowing for the formation of a thin hardened layer on the surface of steel materials. This has made it possible to perform surface heating treatments on small diameter round bars, which were previously difficult to achieve. 【Examples of μ high frequency heating treatment】 - μ high frequency heating treatment for S45C - μ high frequency heating treatment for SUJ2 (practical example of linear shaft) - μ high frequency heating treatment for SUS440C For more details, please contact us or download the catalog.

basic information
**Bending Test Results After Heat Treatment** - μ high-frequency heat treatment was performed on a Φ3 SUJ2 round bar. - In conventional high-frequency quenching, the core becomes hard (fully hardened), making it difficult to achieve surface hardening, which is a characteristic of high-frequency heat treatment. - With Marushin Heat Treatment Industry's μ high-frequency quenching, the surface can be hardened while the core remains in its original state. - Hardness Comparison: → While the oil-quenched product is hardened all the way to the core, the μ high-frequency quenched product shows a drop in hardness at about 0.5 mm (base hardness). - Bending Test Results: → The oil-quenched product broke at 500N, while the μ high-frequency product showed no breakage. - Product Characteristics (※ Runout at product acceptance is approximately 0.02-0.04 mm): → The oil-quenched product exhibited a runout of about 0.3-0.4 mm, while the μ high-frequency product showed a runout of about 0.15-0.3 mm. **Heat Treatment Aimed at Ultra-Shallow Hardened Layers for Small Diameter Parts** - A heat treatment device was prototyped and experiments were conducted to achieve ultra-shallow hardened layers on small diameter parts, which was not possible with conventional high-frequency heat treatment. - A hardened layer of less than 0.1 mm was obtained on carbon steel fine rods with a diameter of approximately 3 mm. ● For more details, please contact us or download the catalog.

Marushin Heat Treatment Co., Ltd. possesses one of the largest heat treatment facilities for batch processing of carburizing, quenching, and tempering. In our vacuum furnaces, we cater to all heat treatment needs, from mass-produced items to single pieces, including heat treatment of stainless steel and mold materials, as well as ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Steel materials are utilized in various ways in our daily lives. The mission of heat treatment is to create the performance and properties suited to each specific purpose of these steel materials, playing an important role in adding value to individual products. By bringing out the characteristics of steel materials through heat treatment, we aim to contribute to the advancement of manufacturing. In today's society of mass production and consumption, we have aspired to grow together with the local community since our establishment, placing great importance on "individual customers." This philosophy will remain unchanged as we continue to provide heat treatment that ensures customer satisfaction, while consistently focusing on "stable quality" and "shortest delivery times," striving to build a company that can accurately respond to requests.
