A bandpass filter is a type of filter that transmits only a specific wavelength range while blocking the transmission of two adjacent wavelength ranges. Edmund Optics offers a total of 13 types of filter glass. In particular, filter glass with a No. in the BG group is widely used for applications that correct the spectral sensitivity characteristics of silicon PDs. Additionally, filters that function in the UV range are used to extract Hg lines at 254nm and 365nm, while filters that function in the IR range are commonly used in night vision and IR surveillance systems.
