This is a high-speed sealed switch. The TE EVC 500-500L main contactor enables reliable high-speed switching between high-voltage batteries and vehicle systems in hybrid and electric vehicles. Despite being a compact contactor, it supports a voltage of DC 900V and a continuous current capacity of 500 A. It also accommodates a breaking current capacity of 2000 A at DC 320 V. This high-voltage contactor is derived from technology used in jet fighters. It provides current switching functionality without oxidizing or contaminating the terminals during long periods of inactivity, even in harsh environments. The EVC 500 contactor is designed with the option of an integrated microcontroller or a timer-based coil economizer. The EVC 500L contactor features a 12V coil and does not require an external economizer. Both versions come with an optional auxiliary switch to monitor terminal positions.
