It is possible to generate nanoparticles using "dry" processing through cryogenic grinding with liquid nitrogen.
Bead mill processing can be performed in liquid nitrogen at -196℃. By using dry ice beads, we can solve the problem of contamination of products with impurities, and dry grinding allows for grinding down to the nano to sub-micron range. While the recovery from conventional bead mill processing is in a slurry form, the recovery from grinding in liquid nitrogen becomes powder.
