Based on the implementation guidelines of the construction technology review certification project by the Japan Sewage Works Association, we have obtained a construction technology review certification for the "Atlas Copco ZS Blower" technology. 【Technology Name】 Atlas Copco ZS Blower (Oil-Free Positive Displacement Screw Blower) 【Purpose of Development】 It is said that blowers for aeration in sewage treatment plants account for more than 40% of the total power consumption of the facility. Traditionally, positive displacement blowers have been used for small air volumes, while turbo blowers have been primarily used for large air volumes. Positive displacement blowers have the characteristic of being suitable for air volume control since the air volume is proportional to the rotational speed, but they are less efficient. On the other hand, turbo blowers can achieve relatively high efficiency at large air volumes, but they have many auxiliary components, making the equipment complex, and there are restrictions on air volume control operation to prevent surging. To address these issues, we developed the Atlas Copco ZS Blower (Oil-Free Positive Displacement Screw Blower), which has high overall isentropic efficiency and total efficiency, minimal efficiency degradation during partial load operation, fewer auxiliary components due to its packaged design, making maintenance and installation easy, and does not cause surging.
