■Slope Function (Gradient Calculation) ●Uphill Course The distance from the tee ground to the pin is 100 yards. The pin seeker displays 99.7 yards. The green is uphill, and in reality, you need to hit longer to avoid coming up short and landing in the bunker. So, how many yards should you actually hit? In this case, selecting a club for 108 yards is the correct choice. ●Downhill Course On the undulating courses of Japan, tackling downhill holes can also be challenging. The tee ground displays 216 yards, but a strong shot will definitely go over. The pin seeker slope reads the downward gradient and tells you to hit as if it were actually 170 yards. The difference is 46 yards. To develop a true sense of distance and elevation intervals, professionals practice on the course with the pin seeker repeatedly.
