magLEAD 12gC is a fully automated nucleic acid extraction device equipped with a separation mechanism for magnetic particles based on PSS's proprietary patented technology, Magtration. Despite its compact tabletop design, it can process up to 12 samples simultaneously. The extraction operation is simple and can be performed by anyone, even beginners, by just setting the dedicated IC card, reagents, and consumables. The IC card has pre-written operations tailored to specific purposes, allowing for fully automated total nucleic acid extraction from various sample types. The extracted nucleic acids can be used in PCR processes such as real-time PCR and RT-PCR. The reagents come in pre-packaged cartridges with the required amounts already dispensed, eliminating the need for complicated dispensing tasks before operation. The device and nucleic acid extraction reagents are designed and developed in accordance with the European Medical Device Directive 98/79/EC (IVDD), adhering to strict standards for quality, safety, and user convenience as a medical device.
