The difference between AD-COAT and other companies' water-repellent agents. Answers to frequently asked questions from customers.
AD-COAT (penetrating water-repellent agent) is not a product aimed at surface water repellency like general water repellents. AD-COAT is designed to prevent absorption of water rather than repel it. This applies not only to stone but also to concrete and wood, which can become soiled, moldy, or deteriorated due to their absorbent nature. AD-COAT penetrates absorbent materials, densifying the voids to prevent water and dirt from seeping in. It also stops moisture from rising from the backside, preventing wetting phenomena on the surface. While AD-COAT and water repellents may be perceived as the same, we ask that you understand the differences in performance and intended use before adopting it.
