High current, high efficiency single inductor buck-boost converter 'TPS63027'
The TPS63027 is a high-efficiency buck-boost converter with low quiescent current, suitable for applications where the input voltage is either higher or lower than the output voltage. The output current can reach up to 2A in boost mode and up to 4A in buck mode. The maximum average current in the switch is limited to a standard value of 4.5A. It automatically switches between buck and boost modes depending on the input voltage, regulating the output voltage across the entire input voltage range and ensuring seamless transitions between modes. This buck-boost converter is based on a fixed frequency pulse width modulation (PWM) controller and achieves maximum efficiency using synchronous rectification.
