Case Study of Coating Technology: Prevention of Galling in Sliding Parts of Food Processing Lines
*****
No oiling needed to prevent biting! Presenting examples of coating solutions for sliding parts in food processing lines.
If you are struggling with the following issues, this is a must-see! - Stainless steel parts (such as screws) getting stuck and unable to move (galling phenomenon) - Having trouble with galling of SUS materials - Wear and tear on drive components such as conveyors - Wanting to slide without lubrication For those facing these problems, we can solve your concerns all at once by applying a coating that prevents "galling"! 【Limited to catalog download! basic information
Stainless steel, while resistant to rust, has the drawback of being prone to "galling" (seizing). Similarly, the galling phenomenon inevitably occurs in sliding parts made of the same metal materials. In particular, for parts like screws that are repeatedly tightened and loosened, such as in the relationship between bolts and nuts, the period until seizing occurs is significantly short. To extend the lifespan of parts, coatings that prevent galling are necessary. 【Examples of Benefits】 - Before: In precision plastic molding, wear of the guide pins and bushes in the mold was causing issues with mold accuracy. → After: Improved sliding properties reduced wear due to galling, enabling high-precision continuous molding. - Before: In SUS tie rods used for the preservation of important cultural properties, operational failures due to galling were a problem. → After: The galling phenomenon under high loads has been improved, and it has been operating continuously for 20 years. As shown above, this leads to reduced maintenance and increased processing capacity, providing significant benefits. You can view detailed specifications and more by downloading the catalog. [Efforts Toward Environmental Measures] In recent years, global environmental regulations have been imposed on various industrial products and manufacturing processes. Regulations such as the "PRTR Law," "RoHS Directive," "PFOS," and "REACH" have increasingly constrained traditional manufacturing due to the restrictions on the use and discharge of environmentally harmful substances. The Protronics Group has not only complied with these regulations but has also proactively addressed these issues and advanced development from an early stage. We have conducted early investigations into the restrictions on the use of relevant substances in recent environmental regulations and have been engaged in research on alternatives or the elimination of such substances. As part of our environmental efforts, we have newly introduced "wastewater treatment facilities" (operational since October 2007) to not only meet discharge regulations from factories but also to aim for the discharge of as clean "water" as possible.
