India BIS Certification Acquisition and Application Agency Service (CRS: Compulsory Registration Scheme)
We provide full support for the application process for obtaining India BIS certification (CRS: Compulsory Registration Scheme).
For the 78 products subject to India's BIS CRS (Compulsory Registration Scheme) as of April 2022, manufacturers outside India must conduct safety testing of the relevant products at a BIS-accredited testing laboratory in India and must apply for product registration with BIS through a BIS-accredited application representative. NATOM partners with Indian application representatives and local testing laboratories to support the swift BIS registration application for your relevant products. You can download the leaflet "India BIS Certification - CRS Safety Certification Application Agency Service," which summarizes the overview of BIS-CRS certification and application agency services, as well as the "FAQ: About India BIS Certification (BIS-CRS)," which outlines the basic content of the system for those new to BIS certification, from the catalog page. Additionally, we provide updates on newly included products for compulsory certification, postponement of implementation schedules, and movements from BIS in our news section, so please take a look. NATOM will fully support you as the contact point for BIS applications in Japan, so please feel free to consult with us.

basic information
Based on the directive from the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), registration with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is mandatory for a total of 78 products, including 63 IT and electronic devices exported and sold in India, 5 solar power-related products notified by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, 8 low-voltage switchgear and control gear added in 2021, and 2 chemical products. These products must comply with the specified Indian standards (IS standards) and cannot be manufactured, imported, or sold without the standard mark bearing the license registration number (R-number) obtained from BIS. Manufacturers (manufacturing plants) must conduct safety standard tests at BIS-accredited laboratories in India to obtain a license from BIS, and then apply for product registration in accordance with Scheme 2 of the BIS Conformity Assessment Regulations 2018. NATOM collaborates with BIS-accredited application agents and laboratories to fully support our customers in their prompt BIS registration applications.
