Lightweighting through foaming and thinning of resin parts, reduction of plastic consumption, improvement of dimensional accuracy, and shortening of molding cycle times can enhance productivity!
The business of Trexel Japan will be transferred to Matsui Manufacturing Co., Ltd. in February 2024. Please direct any inquiries to Matsui Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Trexel Japan Co., Ltd. introduces the "MuCell" microcellular injection molding system, which offers unique characteristics not found in conventional injection molding, such as increased design flexibility and cost reduction for thermoplastic material injection molding. This technology has many advantages, including lightweight plastic parts, reduced resin usage, improved dimensional accuracy (reduction of sink marks and warpage), and low-pressure molding, and is being adopted in various fields such as automotive, home appliances, medical devices, food packaging, and consumer goods worldwide. Additionally, unlike chemical foaming, the pulverized material retains properties equivalent to virgin material, making it suitable for the production of consumer products where recyclability and environmental considerations are required. 【Features】 ■ Lightweight and reduced resin usage ■ Improved dimensional accuracy (reduction of sink marks and warpage) ■ Low-pressure molding due to reduced foaming and resin viscosity ■ Reduced mold costs ■ Increased design flexibility ■ Sustainability *For more details, please feel free to contact us.

basic information
The MuCell microcellular injection molding device developed by Trexel Inc. utilizes a physical foaming process that allows for the formation of fine cells below 100 micrometers throughout the molded product. This is achieved by directly mixing and dissolving supercritical nitrogen and carbon dioxide at high pressure into the molten resin within the cylinder of the molding machine, and then injecting it into the mold to take advantage of the pressure drop. The gases that can be used are nitrogen, which is extracted from the atmosphere, and carbon dioxide, a byproduct of industrial production. Since these gases are chemically stable, there is no need to consider issues related to recycling, hydrolysis effects on the resin, or mold contamination that can arise with chemical foaming. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
