Make the crystal grains of materials 'super' fine! High-pressure sliding processing method 'HPS'
The HPS method is an original microstructural modification technology that "ultra" refines the crystal grains of metallic materials. The refined materials exhibit exceptional properties that are unprecedented.
The High-Pressure Sliding (HPS) method is an original microstructure modification technology jointly developed by our company and Kyushu University, and we hold multiple patents for it. Although crystal grain refinement technology is being researched worldwide, there are challenges in applying it to high-strength alloys, ensuring homogeneity, and scaling up, which have prevented its practical use. In contrast, the HPS method can uniformly refine the microstructure of practical shape materials such as plates and rods. Furthermore, by developing the Incremental Feeding HPS method, which repeats HPS processing and material feeding, we have significantly improved size limitations and greatly expanded the range of applications. So far, our company has successfully prototyped parts that could not be manufactured before by refining Inconel 718 nickel-based superalloy using the IF-HPS method and utilizing the superplastic properties that emerge from this refinement. 【Features】 - Capable of refining the crystal grains of various materials such as aluminum alloys, magnesium alloys, titanium alloys, and nickel-based superalloys. - Can uniformly refine materials in practical shapes such as plates and rods. - Able to extract unprecedented potential properties such as increased strength and superplasticity.

Nagano Forging Co., Ltd. was established in Nagano City in 1953, and in May 2003, we celebrated our 50th anniversary, continuing to this day. Nagano Forging specializes in the processing and manufacturing of heat-resistant and wear-resistant materials, known as difficult-to-cut materials, and has acquired manufacturing technologies that are challenging to complete in overseas production. By developing our own equipment related to this, we have established unique technologies. We have obtained ISO 9001, an international standard for quality assurance, and thoroughly manage the quality of critical safety components in the automotive industry, providing high-quality products that our customers can trust. Moving forward, we aim to recruit young engineers and incorporate new ideas to develop new technologies, as all employees unite to grow as a technical group. We are confident that advancing our technology alongside the wonderful nature of Shinshu will contribute to the local community.
