The rock pigeon, which has long been associated with humans, is a bird that is very closely linked to people. Its occurrence increases with the expansion of industrial areas and decreases with the increase of forested areas. Its reproductive capacity is very high; once they form a pair, they remain together for life and lay two eggs four to six times a year. Unlike other bird species, they feed their chicks a milk-like substance called pigeon milk, which is rich in protein, allowing them to breed year-round. The chicks become adults and capable of breeding in about ten months. The wild rock pigeon originally nested in crevices on cliffs, and due to this behavior, buildings such as apartments in urban areas have become ideal nesting sites, leading to concerns about their droppings.
