This document explains the reasons why "permeable and water-retaining pavement materials (color sand)" are strong against "freeze-thaw" cycles. Color sand is a pedestrian pavement material that possesses permeable and water-retaining functions while being sufficiently resistant to the repeated effects of freeze-thaw cycles during winter, making it "strong against frost damage." Among our pavement composition, the "filter layer" made from high furnace slag pavement, when used alone, has a significant effect in suppressing "frost heave phenomena."
