【Precision Shot Peening 'OX-FSP Processing'...】 This is a method that finely selects shot conditions according to the material, heat treatment, hardness of the product, as well as the usage environment and its countermeasures, and processes under appropriate conditions with the main objectives of improving fatigue strength and enhancing sliding properties. Compared to conventional shot peening, by reducing the media size to several micrometers to several millimeters, the injection speed can exceed 200 m/sec, allowing for tremendous injection energy even with the same amount of air (processing pressure). Improvement of lifespan through OX treatment for cutters Before treatment: The maximum tooth surface roughness in mass production is about 20S, with tool replacement after processing 80 pieces. After treatment: The number of pieces processed until the tool reaches a maximum tooth surface roughness of 20S is approximately 210. Effect: Lifespan increased by about 2.5 times.

Evaluation: The pinion cutter, punch, and center drill were effective. There were both effective and ineffective hob cutters, but none of them shortened the tool life. Consideration: After regrinding the cutting tools and processing them, it is believed that the "rake face" and "clearance face" are strengthened, resulting in reduced wear. The burrs on the regrinded surface are removed through processing, improving surface roughness and allowing for smoother chip flow, which contributes to reduced wear.
