Characteristics of dissimilar material welding (stainless steel × free-cutting steel (lead-containing))
Stabilizing the quality of small items with a small welding surface and dissimilar material welding! Proposals for process reduction and cost reduction.
We would like to introduce the features of "dissimilar material welding (stainless steel × free-cutting steel)" by Yokoyama Seiko Co., Ltd. The sample product involved spot welding a nut to stainless steel; however, due to the nut material containing lead and the small size of the spot weld, the stability of the welding was poor, resulting in approximately 40% defects. By proposing to create a projection on the stainless steel side of the base material and changing to projection welding, we were able to eliminate defects and achieve stable quality. *For more details, please feel free to contact us.
