Evaluation of the efficacy of Alpha PSP as a monotherapy for dyslipidemia (2001, Cho Ray Hospital, South Vietnam) Method: Consumed 20g of Alpha PSP dissolved in 200g-250g of warm water every morning for 90 days. Objective: To measure the effect of Alpha PSP on cholesterol levels in hospital staff with total cholesterol, LDL-C, HDL-C, and apolipoprotein A-1 levels exceeding normal values. Results: Three months after starting consumption, Alpha PSP was demonstrated to significantly reduce LDL-C while simultaneously increasing HDL-C and Apo A-1, thereby greatly improving the overall risk factors associated with coronary heart disease (CHD).

A study on symptom improvement with Alpha PSP aimed at improving the quality of life (QOL) in 767 Asian diabetic subjects (2002) Methods: For 90 days, subjects consumed 5g of Alpha PSP dissolved in 100g to 150g of warm water twice daily before breakfast and dinner. Objective: To evaluate the overall satisfaction of subjects at 60 days and 90 days after starting intake, and to statistically assess satisfaction in all eight diabetes-related symptoms (numbness, diabetic gangrene, skin allergies, palpitations/fatigue, constipation, vision disorders/cataracts, heart disease, and kidney disease). Results: Two months after starting intake, 89.7% of the 767 subjects showed values close to normal blood sugar levels, and after 90 days, 90.2% of subjects showed values close to normal blood sugar levels. Additionally, compared to before the trial, 83-86% of subjects were able to reduce their daily dosage of prescribed medications, while 70-79% were able to reduce their insulin injection amounts. No side effects were reported during the trial period, and improvements in vitality, reduction in fatigue, alleviation of numbness, and improvement in bowel movements were observed. It was also found that for other complications, all items showed a high satisfaction rate of over 70%.

Glucose uptake test using mouse C2C12 cells Objective: To form muscle precursor cells in mouse cultured cells, and to add alpha PSP at final concentrations of 0.1, 1, and 10 mg/ml, and to examine the effect of glucose uptake into the cells in the absence and presence of insulin. Results: The amount of glucose uptake in the presence of insulin significantly increased, indicating that the test substance promoted glucose uptake into the cells in the presence of insulin. Compared to the absence of insulin, the glucose uptake amount increased in the insulin-treated group, suggesting that the test was conducted without any issues.

Mitochondrial Activation Test Using Mouse C2C12 Cells Objective: To form muscle precursor cells in mouse cultured cells and add alpha-PSP at final concentrations of 0.1, 1, and 10 mg/ml to verify the mitochondrial activation effect. Results: Mitochondrial activity significantly increased at 48 and 72 hours, indicating that the test substance has a mitochondrial activation effect. Since resveratrol, the positive control, also showed a significant increase in mitochondrial activity, it is believed that the test was conducted without issues.
