The "Impact Layer" features a disk rotor with impact pins embedded within the casing, mounted on a rigid shaft, and rotated at high speed either directly or via belt drive. The powder is supplied to the center of the rotor through the upper feed inlet and is rapidly flung outward by centrifugal force, colliding with the pins. After striking the casing wall, it falls and is discharged from the lower hopper section.
