Even plastic devices and component parts must undergo thorough sterilization processes, just like other medical instruments and devices, to ensure the complete destruction of all microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, algae, and their spores that are still alive. As stipulated in the DIN EN 285 standard, all surfaces of the items to be sterilized must be exposed to steam at 134°C for at least 3 minutes. "Autoclave treatment (steam sterilization)" is one of the safest and most cost-effective methods among various sterilization techniques.
