Lightning rod 'dinnteco-100plus' that prevents the occurrence of lightning phenomena
dinnteco-100plus
Unlike traditional lightning rods that "capture and discharge" lightning, the dinnteco-100plus is a completely new lightning rod that has the ability to "prevent" lightning phenomena from occurring.
Conventional lightning rods attract lightning and direct it away from people and buildings, but the dinnteco-100plus solves a significant issue associated with traditional lightning rods: "lightning surge" (the massive current caused by directing lightning to the rod, leading to electrical and electronic damage). This completely new lightning rod has the capability to slowly neutralize the charge within its protection range 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, preventing lightning phenomena. It is the latest model designed for environments at risk of fire or explosion, such as power plants and hazardous material storage facilities, as well as structures located in areas with a high risk of lightning strikes, and it also addresses winter lightning. It achieves a wide protection range of up to 100 meters and has been adopted by numerous NATO military facilities. Additionally, it is used for lightning protection of international airports, globally renowned cultural heritage sites, and massive structures like the Panama Canal. Furthermore, it has obtained a patent in Japan (No. 6342869), and the manufacturer, dinnteco International, has secured patents for the same product in 30 countries worldwide.

basic information
A typical lightning rod (Franklin rod) is designed to "attract and discharge" lightning to prevent it from striking buildings or people. When lightning rods were invented in 1749, their primary role was to protect human lives and buildings from lightning strikes. In modern times, however, the role of lightning rods is not limited to that. While traditional lightning rods operated on the principle of "capturing and discharging" lightning, the dinnteco-100plus is a completely new type of lightning rod that has the ability to "prevent" lightning phenomena from occurring. The protection range of the dinnteco-100plus is determined by the height from the reference plane to the installed body, with a uniform radius of 100 meters for heights exceeding 26.79 meters. It continuously collects positive charges from the installation surface and negative charges from the atmosphere, neutralizing them slowly, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, within the protection range. The longer and slower the neutralization process takes, the smaller the resulting current becomes, preventing discharge (i.e., lightning).

Applications/Examples of results
There were no direct lightning strikes to the tower from June 21, 2003, to December 31, 2016, over a period of 14 years. There are numerous implementation records both domestically and internationally, including "U.S. and European military facilities," "Panama Canal," "Kentucky International Airport," "Chilean mines," "TV stations (Miyazaki)," "hospitals (Osaka)," and "shrines (Niigata)." Additionally, for further peace of mind, insurance against direct lightning damage within the protection area is included. Please download the PDF for more details.
