Due to the fact that complex intracellular proteins and extracellular fluids are isolated by a very fragile cell membrane, a different gentle technique is required to separate them without breaking it. By using Alfa Laval's solid discharge centrifuge Culturefuge 100, downstream purification of the necessary proteins can be facilitated, avoiding this issue.

Standard Design This device consists of a frame equipped with a horizontal axis at the bottom, a worm gear, an oil bath, and a hollow bowl spindle. The bowl (rotating body) is mounted on the upper part of the spindle and is located inside the space created by the upper part of the frame and the frame hood. A liquid discharge device is also equipped within this space. All parts that come into contact with the processing liquid are made of stainless steel. The bowl is of the solid automatic discharge type, equipped with an operational water device for discharge. It features a timer-driven solid discharge device that discharges only a portion of the bowl's contents at pre-set discharge intervals. Discharge occurs at the maximum rotational speed without interrupting the supply. Sanitary flanges are used for the main connections of the centrifuge, and the utility connection is of the clamp type. The electric motor is standardly compatible with inverters (IE3). The structure complies with numerous EC standards, and the device is manufactured according to general machinery standards. Finally, the centrifuge is equipped with flushing nozzles at the top and bottom of the bowl, as well as in the cyclone.
