Our company is engaged in the production of "transgenic mice." Transgenic mice are created by purifying DNA fragments of the expression unit that includes a promoter, the gene to be expressed, and a polyA sequence from plasmid DNA, and then microinjecting them into fertilized eggs. From the resulting offspring, tissue samples are collected, and genotyping PCR is performed to investigate the insertion of the injected gene into the genome, thereby identifying the founder mouse (FO).
