The "asp-6" is an automated testing device that follows the testing procedures specified in the "Softening Point Test Method (Globular Method)" found in the "Petroleum Asphalt" and "Creosote Oil, Processed Tar, Tar Pitch Testing Methods." It uses a wide light projector and receiver, allowing it to detect samples falling from various angles.
