3-component force sensor (load washer, force link)
3-component force sensor, 3-component load washer, 3-component force link
A three-component force sensor utilizing the piezoelectric effect! It meets quality standards on the production line and ensures a finished product quality that is as close to zero defects as possible!
The 3-component force sensor, ForceLink, incorporates three pairs of quartz piezoelectric elements, assembled between two upper and lower steel plates. Out of the three pairs, two pairs measure shear forces Fx and Fy, while the other pair measures the compressive force Fz. The 90x7C and 90x8C of the 3-component force sensor have their x and y coordinates inverted with respect to the direction of the output connector. The 90x6C4 is a set that includes two each of the 90x7C and 90x8C, totaling four units. The force sensor comes in two types: one that requires preloading before use on-site and another, the ForceLink, that is shipped from the factory already preloaded. Kistler's 3-component force sensor, ForceLink, is used in the automotive field and the automotive parts industry for monitoring, control, and optimization. 【Main Applications】 • Measurement of cutting forces in machining • Measurement of impact forces in crash tests • Measurement of reaction forces in rocket engines • Measurement of vibration forces in aerospace components • Measurement of vibrations and friction forces • Measurement of reaction forces in biomechanics • Measurement of forces acting on axles • Measurement of forces in wind tunnel experiments For a list of the series, please refer to the "Lineup" below, and for the features of each, please see "Detailed Information."

basic information
The charges generated in proportion to the components of each force are output from the corresponding pin of the multi-pin connector through the electrodes. The upper and lower surfaces of the sensor are coated with ceramic, allowing for grounding insulation with the installed mechanism. The sensor, designed for vibration resistance, has very high rigidity, resulting in a higher natural frequency that meets the requirements necessary for dynamic measurements. The 3-pin V3 connector (female) is equipped with an insertion guide to prevent incorrect pin insertion and enable accurate connections. It also includes protective features against connector rotation. If the sensor is installed correctly, recalibration is unnecessary. Due to its high accuracy and reproducibility, it contributes to quality assurance and improved process reliability in mass production. Additionally, it requires little effort for maintenance and management.
