**Characteristics of Croamore** - **Film Structure** It has an amorphous structure. Therefore, it possesses different properties compared to conventional chrome plating, which has a crystalline structure. - **Hardness** By applying heat of 200 to 600°C, it can harden up to a maximum of Hv1,800. This is about twice the hardness of conventional hard chrome plating. - **Heat Resistance** Croamore, with its amorphous structure, maintains high hardness even at 600°C. Therefore, its heat resistance is extremely good compared to hard chrome plating, which rapidly softens at 400°C. - **Wear Resistance** Due to the influence of the oxide film on the surface of Croamore, it exhibits better wear resistance than other surface treatments. - **Corrosion Resistance** The Croamore film, up to about 5μm thick, has no defects such as cracks or pinholes, resulting in very excellent corrosion resistance. - **Chemical Resistance** It has 3 to 6 times the corrosion resistance against hydrochloric acid compared to conventional chrome plating. - **Processing Characteristics** It allows for treatment at low temperatures compared to diffusion treatments such as carburizing, nitriding, and boriding, as well as dry surface hardening methods like chemical vapor deposition and physical vapor deposition, resulting in minimal thermal impact on the material.
